An hour of Pilates is wonderful for engaging the body and mind, releasing muscle tension and reducing stress and fatigue.

Not only does Pilates improve your general health and wellbeing, it can improve your posture and aid in the rehabilitation of various injuries from knees and spine to shoulders, hips and ankles

Pilates is highly beneficial for pregnant women wanting to sustain fitness during pregnancy. For post-natal women, Pilates provides a a gentle yet effective method for regaining strength and assisting with recovery after birth.

Our Pilates approach

We provide a service specifically tailored to help you reach your health and fitness goals, working the entire body.

During each Pilates class, as part of your individualised program you will spend time exercising on specially designed Pilates equipment (Reformer, Trapeze Table and Chair) as well as Pilates mat work. This will provide a guide for exercises that can be  performed at home for homework

In each group Pilates session, your workout will be refined to precisely meet your individual goals and needs on that particular day.

About Us

Ignite Pilates is run by qualified Pilates instructor Dr Tamara Konopka. Tamara has been interested in health and how the body works from a young age. After completing a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Physiology a PhD in Pharmacology followed.

In the lead up to having children, Tamara discovered Pilates and the amazing health benefits both pre and postnatally, and this inspired her to pursue a career in Pilates. Since then, Tamara has seen how beneficial Pilates is for people of all ages.

Tamara provides a friendly caring environment, with plenty of variety for her clients.

Tamara completed her Diploma in Professional Pilates Instruction with Polestar Pilates Australia and has previously worked at Doncaster Osteopathic and Wellness Clinic.

When Tamara isn’t teaching or participating in Pilates, she is kept very busy by her two children!
